Today we’ve officially released the MailChimp Ecommerce Tracking Plugin! This FREE plugin helps you measure the ROI of your email campaigns. We’ll track when people click from your email campaigns, visit your website, all the way to purchase. Then we’ll aggregate the information and display it on your MailChimp campaign report.

IF YOU ARE NOT USING MAILCHIMP FOR YOUR EMAIL CAMPAIGNS, START NOW.

Seriously.

Yes, Magento can send newsletters from within the admin dashboard.
No, Magento does not gracefully handle list management.
No, Magento does not have great newsletter reporting functionality.
No, Magento does not have a monkey for a mascot.

I’ve used ExactTarget, ConstantContact, and VerticalResponse. MailChimp wins.

I’m glad to see this.  I’ve been using MailChimp for several clients now, one of which is now getting set up with Magento.

It’s installing, but now how do I turn off Magento’s newsletter?  (i.e. when a new customer self-registers in the front-end I don’t want the Magento “Sign up for newsletter” checkbox to appear.)

I’m getting an error with Magento 1.1.8 that appears to be related to MailChimp.  At the payment step, the transaction errors out and Magento sends a “Payment Transaction Failed Reminder” email that includes this note:

Payment transaction failed.
Reason
Notice: Undefined index: mailchimp_email_id in /home/name/domains/domainname.com/public_html/shop/app/code/community/MailChimp/Ecomm360/Model/Sale/Observer.php on line 128
