Authorize.net has added this new Customer Information Manager allowing you to securely store customers payment info (on their server). I would like to see Magento Commerce work with the CIM.
CIM Details:
http://www.authorize.net/cim
The Authorize.Net Customer Information Manager (CIM) allows you to store your customers’ sensitive payment information on our secure servers, simplifying payments for returning customers and recurring transactions. It can also help you comply with the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard, since customer data is no longer stored locally.

This would be very useful to me. We don’t store credit card data locally due to security concerns, but we do have enough repeat customers that would like that functionality. I’m sure a lot of people will want this.

Is there something for easily integrating Authorize.net’s CIM API with Magento yet? If not, is there someone out there who has done it and could help us?

OK… It’s now been 2 years since Magento indicated they would explore this integration…
Our nest step is to find an ecommerce platform capable of allowing customer re-orders (saved payment data) without storing the CC details ourselves, so CIM seems like a natural fit.
Guess we’ll keep looking.

Greetings,
This module is currently in development by our company and will be available within the next 3 weeks. We’ve had countless of users request this feature and made an executive decision to move forward with the testing of this module.
We hope to have the Authorize.Net CIM Module delivered as soon as possible.
Thank You!

So, does the single domain license not include the source code? Are you using something like ionCube to encrypt it?

The single domain license priced at $299.95 will include 98% of the source code. The only area we plan to encrypt would be the specialized class files. The source code option will also be available for companies requiring full control over all class files.
Thank You!

Hmmm, ok. Our company has a policy of not allowing any encrypted code on our server. Some of the reasons for that include:
- The convenience of being able to make custom modifications in-house.
- In case of a serious bug or other issue, the ability to fix them immediately without having to wait for support.
- Full source code auditing.
So we would have to go with the source code option. I don’t make the purchasing decisions, so I will have to forward this info to those that do.

We have been looking for this feature as well. I just found this extension:
http://www.magedir.com/3rd-party-integration/payment/authorize-net-cim-customer-information-manager.html
Which is $500.
It makes me a little nervous b/c their links to Magento Connect are broken and there is very little documentation. Has anyone tried it?
Also FYI the other two posters on this thread who say that they have released this extension have not, as of today. Or, to be accurate, one has not responded to my questions and the others extension has been perpetually “one week away” from launch.
