Categorize Related Products by Attribute Set?

Hi all, I’d like to categorize our related products depending on what attribute set the related products are part of.

e.g. on a product page for a printer, I have ink cartridges and network cables as related products, each with their own respective buy buttons.

Rather than just displaying them together, I’d like to separate the results by what attribute set the related products belong to, so for ink cartridges they’d be listed under the heading of ‘Consumables’, and the ethernet cable would be listed under ‘Accessories’.

See here for an example of this: http://www.printerbase.co.uk/acatalog/epson-s22-printer.php

Is there a way this can be done on Magento?

Much appreciated,
Mike

I have a similar situation.

I have a category-tree with 400 different categories and subcategories. I also have 8500 products to fill the categories with.
My distributor supplies me with a productdump for importing into my store, but there is no category-path in this file and therefore I have had to manually place products in categories.

But, the productdump has a TCL-code which is specifikk for producttypes/categories.
So I am looking for a way to map this TCL-code to their respective corresponding categories.
Any Ideas?

This is the structure of the productdump:

manufacturer,SKU,Name,Cost,TCL_Code,QTY,expected_date,status
CC,USB-26,USB 2.0 Cable A - Mini B 2m,12.16,9910311009,40,,In Stock
CC,USB-27,USB 2.0 Cable A - Mini B 3m,10.22,9910311009,171,,In Stock
CC,DEL-220B,Floppy Cable Round 3x3.5” 0.60m,46.91,9910071001,0,,Not Confirmed
CC,VGA-12A,VGA Y-Kabel For 2 Monitorer,50.00,9910311016,31,,In Stock

OK,

I am currently rebuilding our site in CE 1.7.0.2, and as opposed to doing this dynamically, I’ve just set up multiple instances of the ‘Related Products’ block, thanks to Mauricio in this thread..

One for Accessories one for Toners and one for Cables, then am echoing them on the frontend - I ran into a small issue, but have posted details in that thread on how to resolve it, should you run into it too.

Hope this helps anybody looking for this functionality.
Mike
