Obviously check that every row of your .csv contains an sku wink

This commonly happens when the .csv file hasn’t been saved in UTF-8.  Have you definitely save it in that text encoding?

Hello.
I´ve the same problems with export/import data in Magento 1.5.1

I do it like some tutorials show it. But first, I create two Products and export “all data”.

/ Export the csv-File from Magento (all products)
/ Import the CSV in Excel 2011 (Mac) and save as XLSX
/ So I have my columns and can put my data on it
/ After that, I save the file as XLSX and CSV
/ Open the CSV in TaexMate and save as UTF8-CSV
/ Import the UTF-8-CSV File in Magento
/ “Skipping import row, required field “sku” is not defined.”
/ WHuaaaaaa!?

OMG, guys! are you kidding me?

It is a common problem and there are a lot of questions about it.

Just save your file in UTF-8 format:
First, make sure that your fields are properly filled in Excel or Open Office Calc. Then create and edit a copy of your original .CSV file.
Save the file as .CSV if you haven\’t already done so.After that open the file with a text editor such as NOTEPAD or TEXTEDIT (if using a Mac).  Go to File > Save As… Your filename should end with “.csv.” Example: import.csv Under Save as type select All files. Under Encoding (Plain Text Encoding in TEXTEDIT) select UTF-8. Save the file ready for reimporting into Magento

it is the only way out. If it doesn\’t work ..try this. It is an error-free import service. it will import everything without a trouble!
