Couldn’t agree with this more.  No way I’m shelling out more money for another upgrade.  It was expensive and stressful enough just ugprading from v1.3.2.3 to v1.6.2.0.

Rhonda, we need a fix URGENTLY we can do ourselves without upgrading please.

You’re owned by Paypal, surely it can’t be that difficult for you to come up with a solution between you.

I up graded from 1.3 to 1.6 last August and I have been plagued with the \"suspected fraud\” PayPal issue also.  My tech guy said to upgrade to 1.7. But I don\’t feel like spending more money just because magento cannot solve this problem.  This seems to be like throwing good money after bad.  Come on Magento team, get this fixed.

This is really ridiculous !  This Paypal bug has been around for years now.
Every order shows up as “Suspected Fraud”

I did manage to fix it with some of the work arounds in here but then I made the mistake of upgrading to 1.7.0.2 and it broke the fix.
Now none of the suggestions work again.

Feels like a cat a mouse game with the developer who don’t want this fixed.

What is up. Surely it cannot be that hard to find this bug or at the very lease just install a switch… “Turn of Fraud Warnings”

Anyone got any new hacks to fix this in 1.7.0.2 , spent the whole day on this and none of the old ones work

Chris

Ok, for anyone else with the problem. I don’t know what problems this fix will cause but it seems to be working.

Disable Compilations and Cache First.

Go to App>Code>Core>Mage>Sales>model>order>payment.php

Find all lines that say

$status = Mage_Sales_Model_Order::STATUS_FRAUD;

Change them to

$status = Mage_Sales_Model_Order::STATE_PROCESSING;

Delete Cache Folder, rerun Compilations and enable cache
It seems to work for me

Basically my fix, just bypasses the step that changes the status to “suspected fraud”. I’ve had no more problems with it.

Magento really needs to fix this properly now.

I can’t believe this.... with Magento since version 1.0 and now this....

All orders are marked as “suspected fraud”.

This is nonsense!!! We are treating the customer as a bandit, this has to be fixed!!!

Anybody has published this issue in the bug tracker?

Any solution for this? Running 1.7.0.2 right now.

Thank you.

torsti, so how was it? I’m wondering, cause for me the bug doesn’t go anywhere. Magento definitely should adress this issue as soon as possible

Hello,

We managed to find a fix for this solution. Well it worked for us anyway. The initial problem that we diagnosed was that the shipping prices were clashing. So a different total price was being passed from Magento to PayPal and back therefore causing the Suspected Fraud status as the two prices were different.

To fix this, in our PayPal account we went to Profile -> My Selling Tools -> Shipping Calculations. Then make sure the tickbox is ticked “Click here to allow transaction-based shipping values to override the profile shipping settings listed above (if profile settings are enabled).” Then Save.

We then began to get PayPal orders coming through as “Pending Payment” and then after the amount was captured it changed to “Processing”

An example of one of our records:

28 Aug 2012 23:15:10|Processing
    Customer Notification Not Applicable
    IPN
"Completed"Registered notification about captured amount of â‚¬xx.xxTransaction ID"XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX".

28 Aug 2012 23:14:16|Pending Payment
    Customer Not Notified

Hope this works for other people. Good luck as we know this is an ongoing bug.

Thanks tradiArt,

Patiently waiting your feedback.

Hope others can find this useful. Another paypal order, also working:

31 Aug 2012 12:31:22|Processing
Customer Notification Not Applicable
IPN
"Completed"Registered notification about captured amount of â‚¬XX.XXTransaction ID"XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX".

Hope people can notice this and provide as much feedback as possible to possibly fix this bug. I am not sure that this is a guarenteed fix, it worked for us on Magento 1.6.1.0.
