I am having an issue with a bad URL when I select Magento Connect Manager.  When I select the manager I get the ‘Whoops, our bad...’ page.

The URL I see is:

http://mydomain.com/downloader/?return=http://mydomain.comk/index.php/admin/

Anyone have any ideas for a fix?

Thanks!

Hi, I’m getting the same error when I select Magento Connect Manager under System, Magento Connect - basically I get a directory listing of the magenta downloader directory as follows:

Index of /magento/downloader
* Parent Directory
* Maged/
* config.ini
* dist_config.xml
* favicon.ico
* index.php
* js/
* pearlib/
* skin/
* template/

Similar URL to rjddavies above.

This is a new install on Vista with Magento1.1.6, PHP5.2.6, Apache2.2.10, mysql5.0.67.

Any help really appreciated.

Cheers
Jason

I think this may solve your problem…
#set downloder folder to chmod 0755
#set downloader/index.php tp chmod 0644
and you are done,
if you yet do have problem then you can also do this, go to admin panel then, system>configuration>admin>security then, turn “Add Secret Key to URLs” off.
Thanks

Thanks this did the trick! (I think it only happens on CPanel servers)

Fixed it for me as well on a fresh cpanel install of Magento 1.7 CE

Ok, I know this post is pretty old but i’m having this issue after i changed servers.
I run magento 1.7 on a cpanel vps server.
when i try to access Connect Manager via the admin panel link, all i get is the contents of the downloader folder listed.
Every other thing works just fine and i can even install and uninstall extensions if i access Connect Manager by typing in the direct url (mydomain/downloader/index.php).
The issue is really driving me crazy and i’m totally stumped on this.
I appreciate any help i can get.

Ok. I finally got it after over a month of headaches!
I think my post on this thread gave me good luck.
Here is the solution i found after scouring the net for ages. I hope it’ll be useful to someone:

Adding following line

DirectoryIndex index.php

to /downloader/.htaccess

Hi,

I just solved the problem! /downloader/ needs to have file permision 755 /downloader/index.php needs to have file permision 644 and it works just fine

#set downloder folder to chmod 0755
#set downloader/index.php tp chmod 0644

and then check , if you again got this problem then you can also do this, go to admin panel then, system>configuration>admin>security then, turn “Add Secret Key to URLs” off.
