Hi,

I just added the following code via cms to my home page: {{block type="catalog/product_list_random" template="catalog/product/list.phtml"}}

This works fine,but I want to get rid of that toolbar on top and the bottom.

So I thought to copy the list.phtml template,delete the toolbar code and call it custom.phtml and chnage the above code also.
Will this work?

But anyway,I could not test it,because i really can’t find that list.phtml template.

Normally it should be here or am i wrong?
App/Design/frontend/default/my template/catalog/product/list.phtml

For your information I am using the Classic theme that I modified a bit.

Maybe i am just a bit blind or what wink

Thanks

Richard

Hi,

You need to copy catalog/product/list.phtml from base/default in to your custom theme.

Have you tried putting the template path hints on. That will give you the exact location of all the files smile

No,I did not try that,I always edit my files via ftp.
How can I do it in the way you just mentioned?

Go to System -> Configuration -> Developer (Default store view) -> under debug heading -> template path hints and translation inline . Put them on and refresh the home page. Now you can check how easy to find out the location of files. smile

Just another question regarding this.

At this moment i am using this code and it works fine:

{{block type="catalog/product_list_random" template="catalog/product/custom.phtml"}}

But I have 9 products on my homepage,is there a way to change this to 6 products?

Thanks for your help.

Hey,

These numbers are controlled by the xml file. So they can be easily changed but I am a little confused about which products you are trying to refer from this. Can you give me a link for that.

{{block type="catalog/product_bestsellers" name="catalog.bestsellers" template="catalog/product/bestsellers.phtml"_productsCount="6"}}
