I must be missing something, but there doesn’t seem to be a file upload option (I am using the latest version)

Please check Edit Product >Custom options

I don’t see this in the demo...is it an Enterprise feature?

Tried this with a fresh 1.3.2.1 install, created a product with custom file attribute, when adding to cart get a white screen. Product is shown in cart sidebar, can checkout, but cart is broken.

For those interested, we have just released a module for front-end file uploads that simulates an ajax uploader for Magento 1.4.xx. Our new Simple File Progress Bar module uses a jQuery plugin to ensure maximum cross-browser compatibility.  It use a mixture of Javascript, ActionScript, and any server-side language to dynamically create an instance over any DOM element on a page.

You can get more information at the Squarefoot Magento blog here: www.squarefootmagento.com/news/file-upload-progress-bar-magento

Full working demo of the file uploader / progress bar here: http://squarefootmagento.com/demo/magento-file-upload-progress-bar.html

Cheers,

SFM

Hi!
With Customer Attributes Extension you can add customer attribute ‘file upload’ to registration page and the page of checkout when customer register during checkout. Moreover it’s possible to see the image or file uploaded in admon panel on customer grid, order grid, on order view pages. Moreover both you and the cuatomer can edit the attribute in customer’s account.

Discover detailed user guide, video and see the live demo here http://amasty.com/customer-attributes.html

Hello

Have some solutions for this case:
- You can use WEB TO PRINT: INSTAGRAM PHOTOS extension to allow making Instagram prints to the customers
- Also customers can be encouraged with a possibility to upload their photos to your site with this CUSTOMER SHARED IMAGES extension
