I enabled Google Sitemap and Currency Rates schedule, I want they to update automatically, I installed the cron successfully, the job_code of database table cron_schedule only has “newsletter_send_all”, “catalogindex_run_queued” and “every_10_minutes”, I want to update Google sitemap and currency rates automatically, how do I do?

I’m also trying to figure out how to update Google Sitemap by cron, but so far I was only able to update it manually by calling this URL
http://www.mystore.com/index.php/admin/sitemap/generate/sitemap_id/
where sitemap_id is the ID number of the sitemap that was created under Admin -> Catalog -> Google Sitemap.
My cron job looks like this:
@ daily cd / home / mydomain . com / htdocs ; php cron . php
but this does not work although I’m sure the cron.php script is called correctly.
Have you figured this out on your end in the meantime?

I’m currently on 1.1.5 and also found out in the meantime that by upgrading to 1.1.6 this should be solved.

I’m on 1.1.8…
Here’s my “cron_schedule” from my database…
How can I get my sitemap generation to be automatic?

I’m getting this issue in Magento 1.3.2.3. Cron is working fine for the newsletter, but Google sitemap and the currency rates are not being updated - I have to do these manually.
Anyone else having this problem…?

I have the identical issue Magento ver. 1.3.2.4, and all I see in my cron schedule table is “newsletter_send_all” and “catalogindex_run_queued”?
Anyone worked out what is causing this?

No, I can’t foretell what you have or have not read already.
It seems that people’s server side cron is not executing properly. Setting up the schedule in magento is only half of the process. On your servert, set up the cron job so that it runs every five minutes of every hour. Modify your sitemap generation time to ten minutes from now in mangento and see if it works. Try to get confirmation emails from your host every time you cron runs to make sure it is executing properly.
If you’re using a hosted environmnet w/cpanel it should look something like this:
/ramdisk/bin/php5 /maindir/youraccounthere/www/cron.php
