I’m trying to create a static CMS content page for a category i.e. when someone clicks on the category “bikes” they will be taken to a static page with content about bikes.

How do I go about this?

if you are talking about just one link, I would just manually add it to the static block area in category; it would be more effort to try to call this dynamically , unless you are calling all cms pages or something..

Unfortunately I tried manually adding the static block in the category configuration but it still did not display the content. Not really sure where to go from here.

Tried this http://www.semtruth.com/customize-the-content-layout-on-magento-category-pages but it didnt work. running out of ideas now.

I’ve created custom URL rewrites for the category pages to a CMS page.

Hello FEKIT, could you tell me how this works, please? Because I don’t understand the Knowledge Base introduction about it but I want to link from my Shop to Wordpress webpages.

Go to Magento Admin area -> Catalog -> Manage categories. After that take the category that we wish to edit, and we can see a tab for Display Setting. Take this tab and set up Display Mode as Static Block and Products/ Static block only and select the cms block.  Then click the save category button. Please See the attached images.
