Hi

have a bit of a problem with my magento site.

It has been working ok up until now and I’m half way through uploading the images and setting up the products and now today when going to the edit products page I get two errors flagged up in firebug (see below) and then a third error when clicking the “browse files” button. All the other functionality seems to work ok.

I’ve tested in IE7 it also threw errors, so it doesn’t seem to be browser specfic.

I also moved magento files and downloaded and installed the complete unmodified magento base files accessing the same db, in a completely separate magento install with the demo data (separate base files and db on the same machine) I’m getting the same error, so it’s not anything to do with any flaky changes I’ve made.

So it seems to be looking like something up with the machine its running on but I haven’t changed anything since it was working ok, so I’m a bit stumped here.

any thoughts
thanks
Maugan

by the way when i upload an image for a product , it does not generate the HTML code correctly and only shows half of the page on the website.
but when i remove the product image it is fine .
i checked the generated HTML code and it stops exactly after <img src=”

any idea ?

Hi

May have worked out the dialogue box error, not the other ones but the ‘Browse files’ issue

the error #2176 thrown isn’t a bug but a feature of flash player 10
I came across this in the adobe forums
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?forumid=72&catid;=675&threadid;=1362693&enterthread;=y

this has come previously in the ‘Installation problems’ forum
http://www.magentocommerce.com/boards/viewthread/15414/

short term solution hint - uninstall flash player 10 and install flash player 9
http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html#fp9
“Download the Adobe Flash Player 9 Update for Windows and Macintosh (ZIP, 42 MB) “
uninstall properly - use the uninstaller at the bottom of the page

This is a short term solution, you can’t stay on FP9, Magento will have to be changed as to how it uses SWFUpload just like every other website that uses this function.

I’ll let you know as to how the short term fix goes

Maugan

Hi
The uninstall and reinstall of FP9 worked ok and all seems to be working ok.

The other errors are still appearing but there seems to be no adverse effects.

Wyrdsister - can’t help you with incomplete generated code but I think it could be related.

I think that Varien must get out a news version of 1.1.7 without this problem, but they don’t tell nothing about. Please varien , tell us if we must wait 1 or 2 days for the new version or we must resolve the many bug in the 1.1.7 alone. Thanks

Same here. We do still have the option of using the spreadsheet and import folder, but that’s tedious in a giant catalog. grin

Same problem here. Haven’t had to use spreadsheet/import folder yet, and hope I don’t have to, but I may have to learn if no one can come up with a fix.

Details:

Firefox 3.0.4 on Mac OS X
Safari on Mac PS X
Firefox 3.0.4 on Windows XP
Internet Explorer 7 on Windows XP

Currently the only solution I’ve found is to downgrade the Flash plugin in your browser to v9.

I downgraded to Flash Player 9 yesterday to test this out; now my dropdown menus don’t work in Firefox, either on the front-end or the admin area. They still work in IE. Strange.
