Hey all… I am wondering if i could possibly integrate a sms gateway into magento, that would sms users to inform them about product details, their order status etc. Is there any module availble that would help me that?

well there are currently no modules out for that .. sms to user shoud be easy
sms orders are more hard .. becuz u need a inbound number ..  and place a order

anyhow it’s a good idea ..
sms to user
sms to group
sms to all users

ordering over sku ? ( inbound numbers cost a monthy fee .. )
also how u woud reoganize the customer ?

.. if more users interrest in that modul i woud start to programm it

well I’d be interested in such a module, pkircher
for me, just in the store-to-customer way, I don’t need the ordering through sms part.

So, as far as I understand,
you want to to send special sms to the customers who already have bought smth in your store.

We have developed a Review Booster extension, it allows to send emails
to customers automatically or manually after order get completed. Do you want smth like this,
or you need a new action available at the customers list page ? Or may be it should
be Newsletter mod modification, so that you will be able to send sms to all your newsletter subscriber.

p.s. Do you mind using Clicatel as a SMS gateway ?

pls keep me updated as if u can get a Clicatel SMS solution that would be perfect, a lot of my clients use that SMS gateway. Checked your website and couldn’t find anything released yet.

That would be the first magento sms payment gateway extension, am I right?
or there is another already?

Update 03/06/2010
The module now supports the management of the event {New Order}. Can be configured to send to store owner an SMS notification with the key data of the new order was just entered by the customer.
