Hello all together,

first I have to say that Magento is an absolute autragous Ecommerce Script.
After uploading Magento and heading to install script, I accepted the terms
and clicked at button continue.
Than I got a browser error what says (translated by me, hopefully you´ll understand):
--------------------------------
Error: Redirectional error

Page is redirected to death
--------------------------------

So maybe you want to try this out at:

http://magento.xbox360-fusion.de

I´ve checked .htaccess and server requirements again and could not find the problem.
So hopefully here is somebody to know this and help me out.

PS: I´ve tried to find similar threads here in the forums, but did not so.
Also in the german forums did not even appear an answer.

Best regards from Germany,
Daniel

Hi GateKeeper,

After accepting the terms and conditions, for some reason Magento is going to the following URL:

http://magento.xbox360-fusion.de/install/wizard/install/wizard/install/

Are you sure that you have your .htaccess file setup correctly?

Hello,

thanks for your reply.
I did try all .htaccess configurations I could find inside the forums.
My actual one is this:

<IfModule mod_php5.c>

php_flag magic_quotes_gpc off
    php_flag short_open_tag on
</IfModule>

DirectoryIndex index.php

RewriteEngine on

#RewriteBase /dev/magento/

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/media/
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/skin/
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/js/
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond
%{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond
%{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-l

RewriteRule
.* index.php

I did also ask my hosting procider which was testing a bit with this, but couldn´t find
any solution too.

Than I tried to outcomment if rule, RewriteBase and so on.

Best regards,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Did you try deleting all the directories/files, then uploading Magento as a .tar and extracting on the server? Then making sure the permissions are set correct?

Hi Daniel,

If you use cPanel, I would use File Manager to upload the .tar, then extract on the server. Then use FTP to change the permissions.

Or you can use SSH to do both, if you are allowed to.

Hi Daniel,

Unfortunately, I don’t believe you can extract files on a server with cure FTP. I would recommend asking your web host if they can upload and extract the .tar for you, as they will have root access.

Hope that helps!

Hi again,

so the problem was with some serverconfiguration which not even the host could find.
He copied the shop to his server, which are new ones, and voila its running.
So now they are going to move my webspace to the new servers too.

Thanks again for helping me.

Best regards,
Daniel
