has anyone created a cxml punchout (supplier side) with Magento?
I need to get a supplier side punchout capable cart up and running but I am not sure how much work would be involved.

Thanks in advance

we have it working, created our custom module to work with ariba. Recognizes user referral, changes how the order checkout is handled, carries the order back to ariba. Over a year of development and at final stages for Ariba to approve.

Likewise, Brady, I would be interested in if you were willing to share or license the code.

Hey guys,

Glad to come across a punchout related post.  For those fellow Magento users looking for help with punchout, I’d humbly invite you to consider allowing us to help you.

www.PunchOutCatalogs.com is the only punchout provider that’s both an official Magento Solution Partner AND a certified Ariba Supplier Solution Partner.  And if that’s not enough, we’re also official partners with Oracle, SAP, and Coupa as well. smile

Ariba-PunchOut Press Release: http://goo.gl/1MLbw

“PunchOutCatalogs.com has deep experience in the B2B eProcurement market and they are a logical partner as we pursue this strategic market.” - Jary Carter, VP of Sales for Magento

In summary, we provide two options for companies using (or wanting to use) Magento to become punchout enabled:

A) SaaS* - You can license a turn-key, pre-customized XML punchout and OCI roundtrip capable Magento Enterprise or Community Edition instance form us, or…

B) IaaS – Potentially leverage our XML PunchOut Gateway and have us do (or help you do) the necessary customization to your existing Magento site

*Option A has been the most popular method by far as it’s the easiest, quickest, and least expensive option.  However, we can educate you on the pros & the cons and help you evaluate which way to go.

Regardless, you’ll be able to integrate with any eProcurement system, including Ariba Buyer, Oracle iProcurement, SAP SRM, and Coupa while still using the same instance for B2C.

If you are interested in learning more, simply visit our website or send me a message and someone will schedule a demo to show you a live punchout from Ariba to Magento.

If you’d like to learn more about punchout in general, hopefully some of my posts on Ariba’s blog might help: http://goo.gl/BviWd

Look out for a webinar to be announced by Magento in the next month or so as well where we’ll talk about punchout and how companies using Magento can take advantage of it to grow their business.

We’ll be attending X.commerce and have a 20 foot booth at Oracle OpenWorld in October.  Say hello when you see us!

Cheers,
Matt

We launched a new initiative for punchout catalogs for magento, Punchout Catalogs to Go.

Our punchout catalog solution is an installed solution. We are in the works on creating a self install extension for the ‘do it yourself’ group.

Feel free to call me directly if you have any questions (888) 623-2374

Thank You,
Brady Behrman

The PunchOut2Go Punchout Catalog Extension for Magento has been released. Our extension is a self install or we can set it up for you.

http://www.punchout2go.com/punchout-catalogs/magento-cxml-extension/

What Magento classes does it override, if any?

The module adds in a new route for the punch out controllers, a new layout xml and some observers. It does rewrite on a few of the checkout paths and urls, but it configures and extends them per-Magento conventions. The layout xml also overrides a few elements that should be modified per most procurement requirements.

What code is getting added to Magento & what does it do?

The PunchOut2Go_module and one library is used.

Does it use our existing theme, or will we need to create a new theme?

It should be usable with any theme. Some modifications may be needed depending on how the theme is put together.

Does it use an existing site/store/view or do we need to modify our existing structure and if so, how?

It can use your existing store.

Can it select the correct site/store/view for each customer?

We can set up multiple catalogs each pointing to a different url and or domain used. The procurement system and our gateway would need to be configured with the correct catalog to point to.

We have some customers that have a fixed pricelist.  How can these be handled?

Buyers can have a specific store with their specialized pricing. The catalog for that buyer would point to that url.

What changes, other than installing your module, will I need to make to our site?  New product attributes?  New category attributes?

The extension install will create two new category attributes. “UNSPSC” and “punchout_export”. The additional product attributes it also needs are “UNSPSC” and “Unit of Measure (uom)”. These are not automatically created, the module can be configured to use existing fields or new fields can be manually established. The rest of the changes for the module to work are within the modules’ configurations and associated layout/template files. Depending on your theme and requirements from the procurement system, those layout and template files may need to be overridden but ultimately the module is designed to work with within your site with as little impact as possible.
