What do you mean? To read the csv file, right?

Yes…

Everyone has plenty of issues importing data, but this is the #1 reason people have issues.

PS: now I use Open Office that gives me no problem with csv....but at first I tried with Excel (on a Mac). I wasn’t able to create a right csv file without problem....do you have any tipp? ...and I didn’t find how to change configuration :(

I have 2 co-workers who compile all the data in Microsoft Office and when i get the files to look over before import I use Open Office(Libre Office now) and set the char type and delimiters there. I am unsure how to do either of those things in Microsoft Office and I personally, never use Microsoft Office. I stopped in 2007 with that god awful GUI and its lack of immediate CSV compatibilities.

I lost 2 days trying to figure out something...then I downloaded Open Office

But I’m curious how to get it work...boh!

Hi everyone,

Finally I managed to do a clean import with a cron!

I have to thx Quinty e amartinez for the support on the last days…

Anyway, soon amartinez will publish a stable version of his script for magento version 1.4+!!!
I (and we all I think) am looking forward for this…

I’ve followed these steps and others from other threads and I keep getting this error for each of my rows whenever I try to import:

Skip import row, required field “entityid” not defined

I am using open office and making sure all import files are UTF-8. I have tried uploading with a new import profile as well as with import all products. Always get the entityid error. Anyone know what this error means?

have you ever tried magmi ?
just look at the post with 2000+ answers & this site

works from 1.3 to 1.6, many powerful features , and it’s free.

I’ve heard about magmi, never got to use it though

another suggestion is to try this service
I had a lot of headache cause of import, esp with product images, and these guys do it really well
