Use Magento Connect to install the extension.  You will have to install the Enhanced Product Grid extension before installation.

Let me know if you have any problems installing.

I made a change based on a forum thread, to add a mass action in the catalog to change the attribute set. It works great and the change is in my local directory.
It is in app/code/local\Mage/Adminhtml/controllers/Catalog/ProductController.php and app/code/local/Mage/Adminhtml/Block/Catalog/Product/Grid.php just like your changes would be.

So what’s the deal about having to change the core and it won’t work in local?

Great job ! Really.
But I have a stupid simple question : won’t this change be affected / errased / replaced on the next upgrade of magento ?
Thanks

In this state yep, the two files will be overwritten if the original ones are updated.
The two files should rather be under a “app/code/community/Nel” folder in future updates, right now putting them here (e.g.  simply like “app/code/community/Mage/Adminhtml/Block/Catalog/Product/Grid.php” & “app/code/community/Mage/Adminhtml/controllers/Catalog/ProductController.php") will return a 404 error when using the functions (which are displayed), possibly because of the relative redirects. smile

I don’t understand what you say. Can you please explain more precisely?
I’ve just installed this plugin but when I select several products and try to “relate to each other”, it returns a 404 error :(
I am still a magento newbie and am not sure what to fix…

Please note that I didn’t do any file manipulation as the plugin states “no installation needed”, do I have to do anything else than installing it via Magento Connect?

Thanks for your help

Hi, I also just installed 2.11 from Magento connect, no new options have appeared in the product catalog to complete the mass update.

I uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. Went to follow above instructions and the file you mentioned does not exists to copy from.

I am on the latest version 1.1.6 vanilla install no mods.

Please help if possible I am really keen to use this plugin smile

Thanks Nel!

Matt

I’m having the same issue.  The file mentioned in the first post does not exist for me after I install.  I’m running 1.1.8.  Any help out there?

Woops, these instructions are completely deprecated!  Just use Magento Connect to install and everything is good!
