When we upgraded from 1.4.0.1 to 1.4.1.0, suddenly a bunch of PaPal button/logo/icons appeared everywhere, very prominently on the cart/checkout and even in our sidebar on nearly every page. Anyone know what the deal is with that? I can\’t understand why they did it. Not only do they look ugly, and affect even our custom theme, but what\’s the point? And the only thing they mention in the release notes that might be related is \"Various improvements of PayPal integration on the frontend and admin UI\”.

same problem here.  Paypal button on each checkout page, and it put a paypal button ABOVE the ‘proceed to checkout’ button the shopping cart page.

Why?

How Do I get rid of this??

I also noticed the upgrade changed the footer…

Shouldnt upgrading Magento be easy ??

if you built your template correctly (with local.xml - read here: http://www.magentocommerce.com/wiki/4_-_themes_and_template_customization/0_-_theming_in_magento/designing-for-magento)

you would simply add this line to your local.xml

<remove name="paypal.partner.right.logo"/>

If you want to change these or even turn them off go to Sysyem>Configuration then go down and click on Paypal on the left side.  At the very bottom under the “Frontend Experience Settings” section you should see “Paypal Product Logo” Just change that to one of the other choices or set to no logo.
