Hi, I just launched a new Magento-powered website. There’s only one problem—I keep getting emails with a subject of “Payment transaction failed reminder”. The reason given in the body of the email is “Quote totals must be collected before this operation.”

I can’t find anything on google or this site to explain what that really means. Can anyone offer any help or point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

Same here 1.4.1.1. I don’t think we started receiving these until we enabled a catalog price rule but could be coincidence. We’re using Credit Card (Authorize.net) and PayPal method. Has only occurred once and it was paid with cc. This order had around 50 items in the cart just fyi.

Hello,

A catalog price rule is enabled in main store, but error has been received from a secondary store.

Just a few items in cart.

Has happened before, but never have find anything in forums.

Thank you!

Anyone have more info on this?  I am seeing it consistently on Invoice and Mail a check payment options.... I have the Shirtnetwork extension installed though and feel suspicious about it.  Only saw it occasionally before installing.

I don’t know.

I commented the line in
app/code/core/Mage/Sales/Model/Quote.php

public function prepareRecurringPaymentProfiles()

{

if (!$this->getTotalsCollectedFlag()) {

// Whoops! Make sure nominal totals must be calculated here.
//            throw new Exception('Quote totals must be collected before this operation.');

}

Hoping this makes the problem go away.  I get the error about once every 10 orders, doesn’t matter what’s in the cart, simple product, configurable product, one item, several items.  Sometimes despite the error email, the order has still made it completely through to the orders in admin panel ... sometimes not.

Hoping ridding the ‘throw new Exception’ prevents this BUG.

Thanks.

I am also affected by this problem.

When using 1.4.x I never had this problem but after upgrading to 1.5.0.1 it happens 90% of the time !

Would like to know what’s causing it and what’s the solution…

The most annoying is if the customer is a guest (regardless whether he wants to create a new account), then he will need to fill the entire checkout form (addresses etc.) all over again!!

I’ve seen this a couple of times as well, I’m a bit worried that it could cost sales. Someone on the dev team must have an idea of what’s going wrong.

I’ve gone through a little digging of the posters on this thread and have noticed that a disproportionate number of us are using Dreamhost. Is this just a coincidence or is there some sort of server latency related issue here?

We’re getting this error as well every so often (in Magento 1.4.1.1) - any update on what could be causing it?

Still no word?

We’ve been using 1.4.1.0 for a good year and haven’t had this issue until four or five days ago.  Around the same time our server was experiencing some lag issues and our host said they were familiar with the issue and had a work-around for it.  Five minutes later our site was back to its normal speed.

But I’m wondering if they didn’t screw something up.

I’m wondering if this is a server issue.
