Just upgrated from 1.4.0.1 -> 1.4.1.0

All seem to work, but got this error when trying to access Magento Connect from the Admin

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/var/www/shop/includes/downloader/pearlib/php/PEAR.php’ (include_path=’/var/www/shop/includes/downloader/pearlib/php:/var/www/shop/includes/src:.:/usr/share/php:/usr/share/pear’) in /var/www/shop/includes/src/Varien/Pear.php on line 27

Anyone seen that problem & found a solution?

Kurt Panduro Olesen.

Have exact same problem on 1.4.1.0 attempting to launch magento connect.

Seemingly related, am now also getting the following error on getting into System>Configuration
Fatal error: Call to a member function toOptionArray() on a non-object in /public_html/magento/includes/src/Mage_Adminhtml_Block_System_Config_Form.php on line 385

any help?

Resolved both by turning off compiler in System>Tools>Compilation as per this thread

Solved mine as well.
However, how to turn on the Compilation to make Magento run 50% faster and avoiding the “src/Mage_Adminhtml_Block_System_Config_Form.php on line 385” error?

You can get rid of the error and keep Compilation on by re-compiling the files
System > Tools > Compilation > Run Compilation Process.

Hope it helps someone.

@Gayatri, I had the same error and I ran the Compilation process again as you suggested - and I still got the error. So I clicked the ‘Disable’ button. Does anyone know why this happens, and how we can still use the Compilation tool without errors?

Set all Magento folders to have writable permission for the web server user
