How can I change the magento Logo in the emails ?

I noticed it isn’t the same logo that you can change in the configuration settings.

Thanks

You can find the e-mail templates in app\locale\en_US\template\email

2 questions about this

1) is this still the best way to change the logo in emails (version 1.4.0.1)?

2) If so, is there a way to create/edit a copy of this file using Magento’s theme hierarchy?  Or do I just edit the core files that are located inside of app > locale > en_US > template > email

thanks!
andy

The best way to edit the logo is just to upload your one and overwrite the current one which is stored in:

skin > frontend > base > youtheme > images > logo_email.gif

Thanks, Highwayman!

The logo_email.gif image is 167x47 pixels, which is not ideal for the dimensions of the logo I am trying to replace it with.

Should I update a file to specify the different dimensions for my logo?
Or can I just upload my logo with the new dimensions and not worry about changing any file to accommodate the change?
Or do I have to make my logo fit those dimensions, period?

appreciate!
Andy

In the email I think you can simply upload a larger image - things go wrong however if you upload larger images for the invoice pdf - as that is very complicated to change

Try looking in skin > frontend > default > youtheme > images > logo_email.gif. Good luck smile

I did this and Magento is still sending out the original image in all my template emails.  Any ideas why this is happening?  I made sure I replaced the .gif file in the proper skin directory.

You need to replace the image in skin > frontend > base > youtheme > images > logo_email.gif as Magento Fox said but also you need to update the cache. I suggest turning on free checkout and doing a test purchase to make sure it all works fine.

Still didn’t work for me…

I’ve overwritten the .gif file, updated the cache, cleared the cache, and it’s still sending the original Magento logos.

I’m using Magento 1.5.1.

Thanks

You can always try and go to
system-> transactional emails

In there you will see all the templates and 1 of them is “new account”
In this template you will see the code being called

<tr>
                        <
td valign="top">
                            <
a href="{{store url=""}}"><img src="{{skin url="images/logo_email.gif" _area='frontend'}}" alt="{{var customer.store.website.name}}"  style="margin-bottom:10px;" border="0"/></a></td>
                    </
tr>

You can change this logo_email.gif to any name you like.

Hi, I’ve discovered the solution.

I was using a special template for my Magento frontend, and I was changing the logo_email.gif in this path :

skin/frontend/default/MYTEMPLATE/images/logo_email.gif.

The problem is that, even using a special template for the frontend, Magento still gets some images from the default template.

Then, I have overwritten the logo_email.gif from the path:

skin/frontend/default/default/images/logo_email.gif.

Cleared the cache…
and it worked.

Hope it works for you too.

Hi

I’ve changed the logo on both folders (my theme and default) and cleared the cache yet the image is still the Magento logo, any ideas?

Thanks
