Do you have any plans to integrate 2nd class/2nd class Recorded Royal Mail plus 3-5day, 48 hr and 24 hr Parcel Force methods into your extension?
I am currently trying to find an extension that can do all of these 1) because we need to keep postage down and 2) becasue we have a number of ‘bulky’ items which cannot be sent by 2nd or 1st class or special delivery and need to go by parcel force.
The extension needs to recognise that a certain weight/size has been exceeded and give only the parcel force option if necessary.
Although I think that Royal Mail own Parcelforce, I would like to put it into another module. I’ve just implemented the second class methods, both recorded and signed for, and am about to package everything up into an extension so that I can upload.
Royal Mail module works perfectly with 2nd class methods. If a separate module for Parcel Force was added, I’m sure there would be a large demand for it.
Why a branded package (Royal Mail, Parcelforce)? For osCommerce I built a Courier/Services contribution which allowed you to enter couriers and their respective services along with delivery timeframes, costs etc. so you get one module to rule them all. I used it for CityLink, Interlink/Parceline, ParcelForce and Royal Mail. Along with tracking scrapers too (out of necessity, would have preferred XML/SOAP etc. of course).
I would indeed like a weight limitation so people can’t pick Royal Mail for a 5KG item for example.
Even better for me, I’d prefer a shipping method transparent to the end user, let them just pick express or standard without knowing the courier. I don’t want them telling me what to send it with, especially given minimum throughput requirements with RM etc. One day a certain item should go RM, the other on a courier for example. I don’t want to overpromise and underdeliver on courier options.

Hi meanbee, first of all great work on the royalmail extension I’m very grateful as there’s not much choice for us UK’ers on the shipping methods.
I just wanted to know if there’d been any update on the parcelforce extension. Although I think they (parcelforce) are terrible it would be good to give the customer some choice.
