I host my website with HostMonster, and install Magento using Simple Script. Now I am using the default theme and don’t know how to replace the Magento Demo Store with my own store logo.
I basically manage everything with the Magento Admin Panel, I tried to change the logo in System -> Configration-> Design -> Header, I can just delete the Magento Demo Store Logo but can not replace it with my own logo.
Is anyone can help me with this?
I am new with Magento, I only know the very basic of it, so please explain in details of how to do it. Thank you.

P.S. I have attached a file of how the Header is not showing.

CPUSA,

Through the admin panel in the path you mentioned above you can only change the location with which Magento pulls the logo image. The best way to change the logo would be to upload one to your_magento_install_directory/skin/frontend/default/default/images and update the admin area with the filename of the logo you uploaded. Or you could also just overwrite the logo.gif with your own and not worry about the Magento admin area.

Hope this helps. Also check http://www.magentocommerce.com/design_guide/articles/how-magento-builds-content for some info on customizing or making your own themes.

If I don’t have Magento installed to my PC, where can I upload my logo?

The directory structure is the same on a local install as it is on a web server:
your_magento_install_directory/skin/frontend/default/default/images/logo.gif

You’ll need to connect to your site via FTP and replace logo.gif or upload your own logo.

Is that means I need to instal Magento to my PC first? I have download Magento 1.1.6, but don’t know how to install it.
Also, I m not familiar with FTP, how can I upload it to FTP?
Thank you very much.

You don’t need to install Magento to your PC locally. If you’re not familiar with FTP, I would suggest contacting your hosting provider and asking them to assist you with setting up an FTP program so you can upload files to your web server. Once connected to your webstie via FTP, follow the path I provided and upload your logo.

Free FTP program: http://cyberduck.ch/ for MAC or http://filezilla-project.org/ for PC.
