Hello!

My e-mails are all messed up.

When the method of shipping is set to Brazilian Correios, e-mail goes without any content.

When I set it to Free Shipping, the e-mails goes OK but no product info is shown.

What can I do and where can I search for problems?

This is a copy of the (full) e-mail that was sent.

I’m getting stuff like this ("=?utf-8?Q?Jos=C3=A9=20Marcos=20de=20Souza=20Prata=20Filho=20Prata?=") too! It surfaced when I upgraded to 1.1.6, right before we went live. I hope someone can fix this soon.

I tested with a fresh 1.1.6 Magento installation and it worked fine.

Maybe a plugin or a configuration messed up my e-mails.

I am going to migrate my data to the fresh version to solve this.

I just had the same issue, but my issue was not because of an extension.
My problem was cause of copy I took straight out of MS Word leaving me with strange apostrophe’s.
I ran a find and replace over all my email templates converting the apostrophe’s into HTML friendly apostrophe’s and all is well again.

Btw same goes for quotes or any other funny non HTML friendly character that comes out of word.
In other words, Microsoft = evil!

Hope this helps some people

Also, Watch how you edit the email file.  In English, we don’t use accent marks and tildes.  For instance, my store name is spelled with an accented “e”, like in French, so when I change the ALT Image to my store name with the accented e, rather than a regular e, my emails showed blank.  I changed the French e to a regular English e, the emails stopped showing blank.  Note* When you update your email images from Magento Demo Store to your own, refresh your own browser’s cache, so you can see your logo_email.gif in the emails.  IF that doesn’t work, I always have to right click on the image and click view image and refresh the page, then it shows up....

This is for those stuck on it.  I’m sure PHP savvy folk know what to do, but some people are DIYers not sure about how coding goes. Thanks.

Problem is: what about accented letters that are parts of the customer’s name or address ?
Since they are dynamically inserted in the e-mail, they should mess it up… should’nt they ?
