1 - Magento store admin lists a product in their catalog that is drop shipped to customer from a drop shipper upon purchase of product
2 - Customer purchases product
3 - Customer’s payment clears
4 - Drop shipper is automatically notified by e-mail to ship product to customer on behalf of Magento store admin

Just a quick brainstorming session of how this would possibly be set up in Magento ...
- Magento store admin would have the ability to create a drop shipper profile
- Within the drop shipper’s profile there would be a section to create an e-mail template to notify drop shipper upon product purchase
- The e-mail template would have predefined variables that Magento store admin could arrange within the e-mail template, in any fashion they choose to do so. Some of those variables might be ...

quantity
customer ship to address
magento store owner’s name and other pertinent information

etc.. etc..

- Once a drop shipper’s profile has been setup in Magento new products added to the Magento catalog could be marked for drop shipping and connected to a drop shipper’s profile.

I also need this, our main store right now we don’t need it, but we plan on expanding into a different category which will require all of that! Please I’ll pledge $ to this!

I’m looking to do something similar, although I’ll be calling out to a web service in lieu of an email.

I’d love to see an option for each item to have a “Ship Zip” attribute.  Yet what really needs to be supported is the ability to enter MULTIPLE “ship zip” zip codes, because you want to ship from the closest warehouse to the customer.

For example, we sell 4 different types of items.  Some items always ship from Illinois.  Others may ship from California or Florida, depending on what is closer.  The third item type may ship from any of the above, as all warehouses stock the item.

When an item has two ship zip’s, the shipper cost should be run against ALL the zips, with only the cheapest one selected.  It gets complicated if there are many different items from many zip codes.

We also need this feature several other e-commerce shopping carts have this. It basically just sends out an email to the company who is drop shipping for you after a customer places the order. Right now we have to take each order and send it over manually.

The online business deals are sometimes very time and money consuming. But now through Drop Ship Products you can ship your products directly to the customer. In terms of money it just simply means sell a product at retail price, and then buy it at wholesale rates.
