I would like to be able to mark orders for batch export in various formats (at least XML, tab-delimited, comma-delimited).

I’d like for the file formats to be user-definable, e.g. one order per line or one order per file, column selection and order etc.

There is a valuable discussion thread for this functionality in the Zen Cart discussion forum.

I would also like to be able to automate the process, i.e. having the order file(s) sent to a predefined e-mail address at preset intervals.

The Import/Export facility is in the works as we speak

It’s been almost a year.. any progress? 

Currently, you can export customers and products, but not orders.  However, the new Dataflow framework is setup to allow order exporting.  It shouldn’t be too hard to implement.

ive got a working beta already i should have it released in a few days. This method does use the dataflow framework as mentioned above and is not like the other methods mentioned in order posts (not a csv export from the sales/order page). This is the true export module under system->import/export.
