Can’t connect to local MySQL server through socket ‘/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock’ (2)

I am trying to install this and keep getting this error

i also face this error jus now.
i use xampp - linux version

what i did to solve this error is i copy /opt/lampp/lampp/etc/my.cnf to /etc and make sure the path for socket is correct
