Hello,

Using the default Magento template I have a three column layout with a New Products feature in the middle column. The New Products feature looks fine in Firefox, but when I view it in Internet Explorer the New Products expand into the right column.

Does anyone have a quick fix for this?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Simon

What happens in Firefox? Does the 4th product wrap down or is it hidden behind the right column? I ask because my guess is Firefox is hiding the 4th product behind the right column. If this is happening you need to change the number of products per row to 3. To do this I believe you go to app/design/frontend/default/ *theme name* /template/catalog/product/new.phtml. I hope this helps.

This is what the New Products section looks like in Firefox.

Thank you for your help.

Same problem here. I tried to contain the elements with widths in css but the changes only worked in firefox.

It’s reading your margins and or padding differently - just adjust it in the IE stylesheet and you’ll be fine.

I did actually find a solution to this.

If you drop the following code at the bottom of your iestyles.css document it should fix the problem.

.form-button,
.form-button-alt { padding:1px 0; }

That is exactly it. Thanks.

I have 5 new products showing on my home page and it looks fine in fire fox but in IE the names of the products dont wrap and the spacing is to much so IE puts the right column at the bottom of the page and lets the products span right.  That little thing about placing .form-button,
.form-button-alt { padding:1px 0; } in the ie style sheet did not fix this problem.  :( any suggestions

I have the same problem.
It seems that IE 6 and 7 don’t apply the 100% width.
I have a three columns template and in the middle part I have one banner (474 px width) and below the “new products”. Three products per row and the width is 33% per cell and 100% for all the table.
However the table has more than 500 px when I look with developer tools in IE.

Here are the different views in Firefox and IE 6 or 7

In the IE The new products table doesn’t respect the 100% width neither the #CCCCCC border color.
Any help?

Sure it is because of css styles. I’ve made several changes in the iestyles but nothing happened because I don’t know where is the fault.
