the Catalog Price Rules is completly full of bugs !!!

even if you disable it works
even if you change rules, nothing happens !
The only solution for this issue is to reinstall DB !!

A very great module as Price Rules becom an evil module !!!

Roll back your back-up and do a diff to see where it went wrong.

hi,
we’ve confirmed existence of this bug in 1.1.6
i’ll supply a patch to you asap

EIDT: oops =) missthread… the response should be that we are unable to reproduce this bug.
if you want to cleanup your database from catalog price rule data please run the following sql queries:

TRUNCATE `PREFIX_catalogrule`;
TRUNCATE `PREFIX_catalogrule_product`;
TRUNCATE `PREFIX_catalogrule_product_price`;
note: replace “PREFIX_” with your current table prefix

Just to confirm, we had the same issue with catalog rules.  Deleted the rule, and yet the rule was still active in the frontend.  Ran query to clean things up. All is well but appears to be a bug.

Using 1.1.6 and after deleting Catalog Price rules, the rule remained active. Your query helped out. So it’s a bug official.

EDIT: No it didn’t help - unwanted, non-existent price rule apparently still active after truncating above tables… How can this be? In the price.phtml we find:

if ($this->getDisplayMinimalPrice() && $_minimalPriceValue):

So why do these products get a minimalprice, after the catalog rule that caused that has been deleted? And the tables are empty?

Also, it only happens after a customer logs in.

I have taught myself basics but don’t know how to run this kind of query.  I wouldn’t even know where to begin.  Is there a patch?  Is there a reasonable remedy for someone that doesn’t even know where to find their database??  Or can someone please provide more specific directions as to how this can be fixed?

I found a fix - simply used my backed-up magento/app/design/frontend/default/default/template/catalog/product/price.phtml and replaced the catalogpricerule-infested one.  Works perfectly now!

Iam having the same problem with the price rules. I did a truncate of the three tables. It is very important for us that this works, it is impossible to do a truncate everytime the pricerule changes or is deleted. At one point we had the problem that there were multiple pricerules enabled on one product when there should be none.

Als it seems that in ie7 the category grid page keeps loading. In firefox it just works. I just made another thread about this. We wanted to go live this week but we are now unable to do so.

Here is the only bug which has not been closed with the remark ‘we can not reproduce this’;

http://www.magentocommerce.com/bug-tracking/issue?issue=4205

In my case it made the error message go away but the catalog price rules were not applied to the front end..

and all of a sudden it works. truncated database, add new rule, then applied. fingers crossed it will stick.

the above-mentioned issue does point to a valid bug.

Hi All,

FYI
running 1.2.0.3
Added 2 rules in Catalog Price Rules. These worked ok, but i then deleted the rules.
When i ran the same test on the front end, i still had the rule show up (applying a new/special price)
So looking at the db, the tables “catalogrule”, “catalogrule_affected_product”, “catalogrule_product” these had no entries at all. BUT the table “catalogrule_product_price” still had the entries in the db.

So i just deleted these entries from the table “catalogrule_product_price” and now its calculating the old price “pre-price” rules.

might be helpfull for someone later
