Hello, I’ve installed a fresh new version of Magento 1.1.4 and am trying to use the Table Rate shipping method without success. I’m interested in using the price vs. destination option and uploaded a CSV file with the following data:

Country-US
Region-*
Zip-*
Order subtotal-10
Shipping rate-5

When I checkout in my cart and request a shipping quote, the page reloads with no additional information on shipping. Any ideas as to what I am not doing correctly? Thanks for any assistance.

I’ve a similar problem.
I try to us a Table Rates to ship in different country, with different prices, depending from weight…
(i use in italian)
“Paese”,"Regione/Stato","Zip/Codice Postale","Peso (e superiore)","Prezzo Spedizione”
ESP,*,*,40.0000,20.0000
ESP,*,*,30.0000,10.0000
ITA,*,*,40.0000,20.0000
ITA,*,*,30.0000,10.0000
USA,*,*,2.0000,60.0000
USA,*,*,1.0000,53.0000

The problem: when i select a customer from USA no proble...a customer from another coutry: no shipping methods avaible...but i have all countries autorized…

How did you import your CSV file? I notice I have a browse button only, but when I browse for the file and press “SAVE SETTINGS”, the information is not stored in the database. Did you manually import your data into the table shipping_tablerate?

I think we’re out of luck, I’ve been asking for a week and haven’t heard any response on the Table Rate issue.

Table rates work fine for me.  How are you formatting your CSV file?  Here is mine:

"Country","Region/State","Zip/Postal Code","Order Subtotal (and above)","Shipping Price"
"USA"
,"*","*","0","8.95"
"USA"
,"*","*","200","12.95"

Which basically says orders up to $199.99 ship for $8.95, and orders $200 and up ship for $12.95.  Make sure you are enclosing all values in double quotes and you are using the proper country code.

THANK YOU! i960.
I spent hours trying to get this to work.
Your actual csv file really helped.
I was using excel, saving as a CSV and pulling out my hair.
I just copied your file into simple text (plain text)
Changed “order subtotal” to “order weight” (because I want to ship by weight.
Made my edits.
saved as tablerates.csv
and then imported.

Keep it simple.
Thanks again.

Glad I could help.  I try to avoid using Excel for things like this.  Unless I need the file in a .xls format, I just use a plain text editor (Notetab Pro in my case).

could you point out where to upload the CSV file? Can’t find this feature anywhere in the admin.

Thanks,

Ben.

I followed all the steps above, edit the table using notepad (I used # of Items) and saved the tablerates as csv file.
When I was at the step importing the file tablerates.csv at the admin panel, it gave me a error message “Invalid Table Rates File Format” (Please also see the attachement)

What did I do wrong? Help please......thanks.
