Hello,

how to import and export categories from admin section

Is it possible to import categories too?
It should be possible with a special XML File, right?

Does anybody has written an xml file for category import?

Would be very nice to get any help.

Iam looking for the same thing. On my local computer I have an excel with categories and subcategories, how can I import this into magento? Because there are a lot it will take too much time to insert them one by one.

I hope there is a simple solution, anyone?

I’ve just looked at the database structure for categories and it seems there are 6 relevant tables, potentially making SQL import tricky.

I’m also interested in a way of importing categories along with products.

I am looking for this too… The API seems like the way forwards (another) learning curve but could be well worth it
