Magento

This forum is great, as are the wiki and knowledgebase. Did you (being the friendly folks at Varien) develop them yourself, from scratch?

my first thought as well. when will it be released ?
think i heard something about drupal.

too bad its not open source..

It is indeed open-source, it just is not FREE… (except for the core which is available for free)

Personal Licenses are $100 and Commercial Licenses are $250 (well worth it though)

um Expression Engine is NOT open source.

Not in the technical sense… Nevertheless it is still a great product with a growing community, and it’s also very extensible which is nice. The Magento team did a fair amount customization on this install of it though…

Oh, wow. I’m going to try to avoid joining the inevitable clamor for more and more features ad absurdum, but wouldn’t Magento integration with ee be amazing?

Yep, other people have already been asking for a Magento-ExpressionEngine Bridge, pretty much since Magento was announced on the EE forums. :D

yeah, roy on the ee forum said its something thats very possible but only longterm, he even mentioned adding it to the roadmap, i assume that now they are more focused on the insanity that is this community site after just over 12 hours

We are very happy (so far) with our decision to use EE to power the MagentoCommerce.com site. We were able to fully achieve our requirements with the software. As the community grows and scales, we’ll see how it goes.

In regards to a bridge, we’d love to do that but there are many other things before. Perhaps someone from the community can take this on for now

It would be nice if there were discussion links on the wiki pages, to a thread in the forum’s maybe.
This would allow people to ask questions about the topics such as:
