you have to implement your own js for that. Your attributes to select are simple products combined in a configurabe product?
Do smth lk this:

Onchange Even implementation for attribute selection. within the block catalog/product/view/type/options/configruable theres the function for creating the attribute selection. Here you can start to customize and adding js funktion for changing images (red, black) and text. You could load the needed images by ajax.
