Hi,

I am new to all this but trying my hardest to follow instructions and learn, I tend to struggle on the simple things (ones that are not explained that well as they are so simple!)

I have been following the ‘Intro to layouts’ tutorial and am understanding most of it. I am now completing the first exercise:

Exercise #1: In the category page, move the “My Cart” box from the right column to the left

But I can’t do section 3 ‘Open up layout/checkout.xml - because now we know we’re dealing with the checkout module’

How do I open up layout/checkout.xml???

I hope someone can help!

Thanks,

OK thanks Kerry.

Please understand that although I know what these things are, I know little about how to use them! Is there any chance you could advise me with some more details?

Scott

Sorry about that. VIM is quite the beast if you don’t know how to use it and it took me taking a linux class to really get good at it smile

I would suggest then just using something like filezilla to download the file, edit it with wordpad then upload it back.

Hope that helps,

Do you not have access to this file via FTP?

app/design/frontend/default/default/layout/catalog.xml
