Hi,

if I go to the checkout and login there as a customer the order overview shows the taxes correctly. If I go to the checkout and buy as a guest, no taxes are displayed.

Does not seem logical to me, at least in Germany the payable taxes are the same for everyone buying, no matter from where and no matter if registered or not.

Any ideas why this “strange” behaviour occurs?

double check your default tax settings: Configuration > Catalog > Sales > Tax > Display

plus you have to specify all countries (and make rules for them ) to which you would like to ship in order to display the taxes correct
