The 1.1 version of this module has now been released.  This post outlines the changes that have been made to the module.

Shipping Methods
The following Shipping Methods are now calculated by the module:

* Firstclass Packet
* Firstclass Packet (Recorded Signed for™)
* Special Delivery™ 9.00 am (Upto £50 Insurance)
* Special Delivery™ 9.00 am (Upto £1,000 Insurance)
* Special Delivery™ 9.00 am (Upto £2,500 Insurance)
* Special Delivery™ Next Day (Upto £500 Insurance)
* Special Delivery™ Next Day (Upto £1,000 Insurance)
* Special Delivery™ Next Day (Upto £2,500 Insurance)
* Airmail (EU and Worldwide Rates)
* Airsure® (Upto £36 Insurance) (EU and Worldwide Rates)
* Airsure® (Upto £500 Insurance) (EU and Worldwide Rates)
* International Signed For™(EU and Worldwide Rates)

Method Display
Although I have decided to keep the “Applicable Countries”, etc stuff in the configuration menu, that will enable and disable the whole module when specific countries are selected.  There is some intelligence in the module that will decide when to show specific methods.

When the UK is selected:
* Airmail, Airsure and International Signed For shipping methods are not displayed

When the UK is not selected:
* Only Airmail, Airsure and International Signed For shipping methods are display

Bug Fixes
* Firstclass not calculated correctly for weights over 4kg - Thanks clorne

“Beta" Status
This module is going to remain in a beta status while everyone has a chance to find any bugs that may be in the code and any changes that may be necessary before making it stable and ready for production use.

..and that’s it.  Thank you for using this module and I hope it delivers where you need it.  If there are any other modules that people think may be of benefit to the community I’d be more than happy to consider making them for the community or on a commercial basis.

I might be the only one...but I am having problems with the module.

I have set the weights of all the products in the store:  e.g.

1.7
500

yet when I add them the price of the shipping is not changing.  So the shipping costs for a 1g product is the same for a 500g product.

Any help?

EDIT:  this is testing the airmail to Switzerland.

Yeah I see it, and its now been changed.  I was refactoring the code and I forgot to actually set the weight.  Apologies for the inconvenience.  All fixed in 1.1.1

Saviour of UK Magento users

Ill upgrade this later on and post results.

Just reinstalled it and was having the same problems.  Might have been some residual files left or something?

Ill try a clean install later on to hopefully get this working.

I just tried an upgrade on an existing install that I had of Magento and it seems to be working fine.  What test cases are you throwing at it so that I can try and reproduce the erroneous calculations?

A couple of questions:-

Will it work with the British English Language Pack?
Is there a way of restricting Airsure to the 30 or so countries that support it?

Edit:  Fully working now - I had change the weight on my test product to 1g from 500g and was confused why it wasn’t going up Great work Nick.

@radders:  It works completely with the British Language Pack.

As for Airsure, you have found a potential issue here.  Currently airsure isn’t restricted to those 30 countries listed on the royal mail site. 

All the other quotes work fine and have intelligent select depending on country.  I am sure the airsure part is a simple fix.

Also, I have noticed there is no sort order option for the module.  I use the sort order for free shipping and currently the Royal Mail module appears above (default 0?) the free shipping - i find that a bit misleading for my buyers (so have disabled the uk postage options for now as this is the only country I allow free shipping too).

Another minor niggle (sorry if i sound unhappy, im not!) is you cannot set the name for the module separately for EU/Worldwide/UK.  For instance I would like it to read:

(for uk) Royal Mail Postage Options
(for eu) EU Postage Options
(for worldwide) Worldwide Postage Options

Not a massive one, but maybe something to think about if a simple inclusion?

Oh, and the Special Delivery 9am appear above Special Delivery next day in the list - when they are the more expensive options.

Just posted another release.  It addresses the following issues:

* Airsure is restricted to the countries that appear in Royal Mail’s list and Magento’s country list.  Thanks radders and Loxam.
* ™ and ® have been removed from the method names as they were causing issues with the Google Checkout module. Thanks clorne.
* Next day and 9am have been swapped around. Thanks Loxam.
* Sort order has been added - how could I forget? Thanks Loxam.

Please upgrade to 1.1.2 for these changes to come into effect.

I’m not sure if this is possible, although I agree it would be a pretty cool thing to do.  The only problem is that if someone had chosen an address in the UK then the EU and Worldwide options would not even be shown to them, and likewise if a EU or Worldwide address was chosen then the UK options would not be shown, so I’m not really sure it’s needed?

What do you think?

I agree, with Magento’s default for splitting shops via language - its not really needed.

Just upgraded, Airsure working perfectly but still a few issues with order (looking via the ‘estimate shipping’ in checkout)

Fixed.  I swear I had already made that fix, along with the Google Checkout fix that I had not put into the 1.1.2 release.

Please upgrade to 1.1.3, that will fix the sort order of the shipping methods and a toggle in the configuration for enabling and disabling Google Checkout support.
