Problem gelöst! 
Nach einigen Versuchen auf komplett anderen Servern hab ich noch einmal ganz von vorn angefangen.
Die Installation verlief wie zuvor reibungslos. Danach gab es aber den ersten Fehler 500. Die Rechter der Dateien im Stammverzeichnis waren nicht richtig gesetzt.
Anschließend ging das Frontend und Backend, aber ohne JS.
Ich habe mir daraufhin die Ordnerrechte noch einmal genauer angesehen. JS war auf 666 eingestellt. Die hab ich auf 755 abgeändert.
Aus der .htaccess hab ich die Anfeiseungen für php-modul gestrichen.
Sie sieht nun wie folgt aus:
