There is no fees for opening an account and you save “counter charges” you would normally get when you try to ship out using a credit card or cash directly rrom a walk in FedEx or kinkos location. The second error shows there were not all tables installed, probably from first attempt with missing files. Try to remove all magento tables from the database, delete app/etc/local.xml, refresh the page and go over installation wizard.
