I just discovered Magento and I was very impressed with the software. I was clicking around the demo and discovered something. There are alot of e-commerce sites that also take orders over the phone so having the ability to create orders from the back end is important.
Magento does offer this feature but it’s not very well thought out. If your product has attributes, you cannot access those attributes when creating the order. So if my customer wants to order a t-shirt with color red and size XL I would not be able to place that item in the order choosing those attributes.
This lack of functionality is pretty much a show stopper for me.
