Hi There All,

I am having a problem logging in to Magento after creating another user account.

I created a new user and assigned a role with a few restrictions on it. Once created, I logged out of the admin account and tried to login using the restricted user account.

Unfortunately, I got an error message saying ‘Access Denied’

‘Ahh pants’, I said to myself, ‘I’ll just login again using my admin account and double check the settings’. When I tried to login using the admin account details, I found that I still was unable to login. This time however, I did not get an error message, I was just redirected back to the login form...????

I tried this a few times, then cleared my cash, tried a few different browsers, then rebooted my machine, requested another password and even tried to login from another computer. But still I am getting the same problem (ARRRGGG)!!

Has anyone had a similar problem or can anyone help me resolve this.

I think I have inadvertently found a bit of a bug!!

I’m having the same problem. But mine was a the begginning a bit different. I made a new user, added new role, at the same time was logged in as new user and admin(with different browsers) and did some inline translation at the backend, when suddenly i was automatically logged out. Then i did get to log in with admin(and with every mouse click it logged me out), and changed new user role permissions and gave more rights. Now i cant get to login at all, it doesen’t give me an error of nothing, just redirects me back to login page. Also i cant login into downloader(magento Connect).

So hope my description was complete enough!

I fixed the issue.

Try this one->

Login into database with PHPMyadmin and locate table-> admin_role (and remove empty or no name cell, I also removed new user), then open admin-user and delete new user (leave only admin). Then try to login to Magento.

I didn’t delete the empty/no-name cell at first, but i got back that weird function to have one click and the logged out, I then managed to get into user roles and found that there’s an empty/no-name entry. Deleted that and now everything is OK.

Only thing I hope Magento de-buggers a looking here, ill try to regenerate that error, when i do, then it’s a bug allright!

I’m having this same issue, but no extra “no name cell” within admin_role. Any ideas anyone. Trying to login just kicks admin back to login page. No error

Hello Magento Dev,

This is still an issue, I have created a user, changes his roles, log out of the admin account.  When i try to log in as the admin I am not able to.

I take it that this is a still a know issue.

Had anyone solved this issue?  It just started happening to me after I created a new user.  Same thing, required to login after I click anything in the admin panel.

Make sure you assign the new user to a role under SYSTEM > PERMISSIONS > ROLES. you will not be able to log in until you do this

As long as you make sure you edit the user roles section and assign the account to a role, there should be no issues with logging into the system.
