Hi Guys,

I have an issue I need help for. When I enable “Use Secure URLs in Admin” for enabling SSL use in administration area, my RSS URLs are suddenly switching from HTTP to HTTPS and I don’t want them to.

For example:
http://www.teraflex.biz/products/rss/catalog/new/
redirects to:
https://www.teraflex.biz/products/index.php/rss/catalog/new/

The problem is that my Wordpress RSS reader can not read https RSS files.

Does someone know how to disable SSL usage in RSS? Thanks!

Little update. Current example doesn’t do redirect any more because I disabled “Use Secure URLs in Admin” option.

But please, does anyone know the solution for this problem?

I’m not sure of the issue. Its reading as an XML file (with xml doc type headers) when it’s HTTPS, but it’s reading as a normal rss feed when it’s HTTP…
I’m not sure why that is changing. Looks like it’s not a wordpress issue but something that results from it beeing HTTPS (might not even be a Magento issue, but surely seems weird)

A quick google search suggest it’s not a valid certificate? Did you purchase an SSL yet?

Hi,
Yes we did purchase SSL and it works fine in protected areas. But, it simply loads the file as plain text. That’s probably the reason why Wordpress integrated fetch_rss() function doesn’t process it.

I can write some custom function, but was kinda hoping someone will have quicker solution smile

You just need to subscribe to it like this:

https://username:password@www.example.com/xml/rss.xml
