I cannot unzip, tar, etc any of your downloads:
sh-3.1$ tar -zxvf magento-0.6.13700-full.tar.gz

gzip: stdin: not in gzip format
tar: Child returned status 1
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors

sh-3.1$ unzip magento-0.6.13700.zip
Archive:  magento-0.6.13700.zip
End-of-central-directory signature not found.  Either this file is not
a zipfile, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part archive.  In the
latter case the central directory and zipfile comment will be found on
the last disk(s) of this archive.
unzip:  cannot find zipfile directory in one of magento-0.6.13700.zip or
magento-0.6.13700.zip.zip, and cannot find magento-0.6.13700.zip.ZIP, period.

Hi Melinda,
It looks like you’ve not downloaded the archives completely.
Can you try to uncompress the files on another host or on your local machine ?

Thank you.

I did this:

sh-3.1$ wget http://www.magentocommerce.com/download/magento-0.6.13700-full.tar.gz
--10:58:42-- http://www.magentocommerce.com/download/magento-0.6.13700-full.tar.gz
Resolving http://www.magentocommerce.com… 208.69.123.181
Connecting to http://www.magentocommerce.com|208.69.123.181|:80… connected.
HTTP request sent, awaiting response… 200 OK
Length: unspecified [text/html]
Saving to: `magento-0.6.13700-full.tar.gz’

[ <=> ] 23,787 --.-K/s in 0.1s

10:58:42 (189 KB/s) - `magento-0.6.13700-full.tar.gz’ saved [23787]

and get this:

sh-3.1$ tar -zxvf magento-0.6.13700-full.tar.gz

gzip: stdin: not in gzip format
tar: Child returned status 1
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors

I cannot use wget to get the file on my server instead of taking forever to upload it?

I did this:
sh-3.1$ wget http://www.magentocommerce.com/download/magento-0.6.13700-full.tar.gz

That’s a wrong link. It should be

wget http://www.magentocommerce.com/downloads/assets/0.6.13700/full/magento-0.6.13700.tar.gz

How did you find that link?

Frankly speaking I tried to download the selected package via browser and saw the link grin
Though you can always find the updated links in the Magento Installation via SSH wiki article.
