My staging server is a Ubuntu system LAMP stack and my local development is a Windows XP Pro x64 running a WAMP stack. According to the admin footers, the staging server is running Magento ver. 1.0.19870 and the development server is running Magento ver. 1.0.19870.2.
I began simulating user actions in my local copy and am getting 404 errors while trying to perform certain actions, like login and logout for example. When I hover over Log Out the link is displayed as
but when I click it I get
Notice the backslash between logout and report? This is where I get the 404 Not Found error. Same thing happens when a user is not logged in, adds a product to the cart, goes to checkout, and fills in the log in fields and presses log in. The system sends me to this page
with the 404 message, The requested URL /customer/account/loginPost/\/report/ was not found on this server. Both .htaccess files are the same, both environments have mod_rewrite installed and enabled, and the Admin>System>Configuration>Web settings are the same and using secure urls when required. Everything works as expected on the staging server, but I can’t figure what is wrong with the local WAMP development version. I am wondering if it would be anything to do with misbehaving sessions but I really don’t know.
I am really under pressure to get this sorted, any ideas would be greatly appreciated?
