In Zend library, we have changes as this :

Before
require_once ‘Zend/Exception.php’;
After
#require_once ‘Zend/Exception.php’;

Why?

Only reason I can see is Magento using their own error/exception handlers instead of Zend’s/PHP’s.

Magento utilizes on-demand autoload of classes, so explicit require_once are degrading performance and not necessary.
