In the Magento backend we have a please wait Ajax window displayed to show that a request is running.

Can we have the same (or a customizable) please wait ajax window in the front end ? As Magento is not always fast it will show that something is running.

Thanks
Max

that would be a great solution to not lost customers because of the speed of the website.

You can definitely add that to your theme when it loads the front end. This will require some simple programming.

Anyone have an answer to this one?  Seems pretty simple to integrate…

Our store has attributes and custom options.  The custom options are all assigned to the associated simple products (children), because we’re using the SCP - Simple Configurable Pricing extension.

When the attributes are selected, the custom options appear but it can sometimes take almost 2 seconds to load.  The user might just select “Add to Cart” before the additional options load.

Any ideas how we can have a “Please Wait...” loader similarly to the Magento backend?

If anybody else is looking for the code: It is located in js/mage/adminhtml/loader.js

You also can disable the loader for a specific request:

new Ajax.Request(url{
  onSuccess
: function(response... },

// ...

loaderArea false
}
);
