I second that.  All of my products have Custom Options.  I need a way to Bulk Export and then Bulk Import products with Custom Options.  Is this possible?

how do we export and import more than 3+pictures? I can get the moral image to export in the csv just fine, but when I add pics, then try to do an export, I still only get 1 pic, even though my product has 10 pictures.

Any one know if exporting and importing options and their values (e.g. red +$2, blue+$3 ) can be done with the XML profiles, or by modifying a dataflow file?

nowadays it isn’t possible… :-(
only if you do a complete backup.. .which only works if you use magentocommerce backend ... native other backup tools the important MYSQL Flag arn’t set.... which can be worse if you have a multistore....

how long we had to wait ... ?  @magentoCommerce Team wink

That’s a bummer as I would really like to be able to do this… Is there a request thread anywhere? This way we can let the Magento Team know what were in need of etc.

I also noticed that if you export make changes (lets say enable or disable a product) you have to log into the products you didn’t modify and hit save on the custom options page. Basically it seems as if its turning off the custom options for the products that you import back in.

"I second and third the motion...”
why the hell is this still not avaliable?

I personally think magento is still at a 0.9 level. it should not have gone 1.0 till basic features like import/export were added.
(and to continue my bitch, a decent templating system should be their #1 priority right now.)

ah now I feel a bit better after that.

I also really, really need the ability to export the custom options. Price changes are going to be a *major* hassle if I can’t update custom options via spreadsheet.

Hey Guys

The issue with the data flow is that they are too many csv formats to contend with, which creates import errors.  Varien realized the problem and is promoting google spreadsheet challenge as the solution to control the csv format issue.  Varien was kind enough to put up a $300 gift card, but many feel that it is to low to get any developers to bite. So, Jt create a pledge deal, which I would encourage everyone in this post to pledge $10.00 if you want a solution to your problems. I doubt varien will be developing the dataflow any further.

Dudes,

The Problem is this ........ if you dont have control of the data ...... you dont have control of the system!

but you can import custom options via phpmyadmin ...... but you then have to go and do the following

magento admin->catalog->manageproducts-> click on a product -> click on save

for every product in your system. Is there an sql query that can effectively do this instead of having to resave every product?

How about a ‘resave all products’ button?

Then you can carry out your csv imports via phpmyadmin and just pop into magentoadmin click the ‘resave all products’ button and Bobs yer uncle!

Any Ideas?
