I upgraded to 1.1.1 (and now 1.1.2) . 1.1.1 moved the product page options into a container that is now placed in the product info section.  I want to move it back to be the block directly right of the product picture.  I been hunting for two days now...can anyone help?  Thanks.

I think what you need is to change the options in the product’s page

“Display product options in” to product info column

thanks liotropi.

I’m not that good enough with coding to know what to do with your answer, but i did find my solution in the boxes.css and view.phtml files.

First, I want to give credit to others on the board who recommended using Firefox with the Web Developer addon.  First, get the latest firefox and the addon.  I used this to find css items.  Click on CSS on the addon toolbar and select, view style information.  I used firefox to find the css.  Then I opened the site live in a css editor where i would make the changes, and I used IE7 to view the changes.  After moving the blocks, I modified the CSS.

To move the options back up next to the product (make sure to make a copy of the original file)

(I modified the default theme. If you use a different theme, use its view.phtml)

Open app/design/frontend/default/default/template/catalog/product/view.phtml; and find the following (in orginial form they might be in different order).  I moved them up to starting at line 59.

<?php if ($_product->getShortDescription()):?>
<h4><?php echo $this->__('Quick Overview') ?></h4>
<div class="short-description"><?php echo nl2br($_product->getShortDescription()) ?></div>
<?php endif;?>

<?php if ($this->hasOptions()):?>
<?php echo $this->getChildChildHtml('container1', '', true, true) ?>
<?php endif;?>

<?php if ($this->hasOptions()):?>
<?php echo $this->getChildChildHtml('container2', '', true, true) ?>
<?php endif;?>

In View.phtml I just played around with moving different sections until i got it the way i wanted it.  The cashe is off right now, but you can see a page here at

http://www.soulshackclothing.com/store/lil-soulmate/trikers-born-to-pedal-one-piece.html

I hope this helps. More experienced coders might have a different way, but this worked for me for my small site.

Thats in the backend admin section

Catalog> manage products

then pick the product

click the “design” section on the left and “Display product options in” will be the dropdown on the bottom.
