Could somebody confirm - I though that all CSS files were rolled into one, and instead of 5, the server only gets 1 request. However, Yslow reports 5 requests, which does slow down the loading.

Thanks!

You can leave you modules the way they are and speed up your Magento site by adding our LightSpeed or Speed Booster modules. Lightspeed is a page caching module that can reduce response time to as low as 120 milliseconds.

Wow. $500 for the module! No thanks - I’d rather disable a module or two than spend $500.

Hi ramedia, your previous posts are indeed very unhelpful and time wasting for solution seekers, and I am glad that eventually you realized that!

Anyway back to the topic, you can certainly disable some modules that you don’t need, eg newsletter, tax, tag, authorize.net etc.

It wouldn’t help much in improving your speed, but it’s a good practice anyway!

You may recheck your magento hosting, probably it’s the main reason. Make sure that your hosting has enough hardware resource for your ecommerce business. You may review this article to find a good magento hosting
