I have found on a fresh 1.1.2 install that the inventory does not reduced when an order is placed.

For example:

I have a configurable product called ‘tshirt’
Attached to ‘tshirt’ are two simple products - one for size small and one for size large.

Each simple product has 10 items in stock.

If a customer places an order for a tshirt in size small, there is no reduction in the inventory amount.
The 10 items remain.

It appears there is some disconnection between the order via a configurable product and the simple product that is attached to it.

Could someone please test to see if the same thing happens on their Magento version?

My products are showing in the layered navigation.

hmm.

same problem here.

When placing an order, the simple product attached to the configurable product doesnt decrease in quantity.

When viewing that configurable product in the admin section, I see the quantity from that going from 0 to 1 instead??

My products are showing btw.. Everything else works fine

The inventory is not working at all for configurable product in 1.1.2
Icreated new product of type configurable
inventory is set on manage- yes
in stock -yes

In frontend the product is “out of stock” an i can not order this product

Help!

We have this same problem. We have over 400 configurable products that disappeared from layered navigation after the upgrade. This makes this virtually non-existent on our website.

Yep, it is a known problem.  I believe someone has submitted a bug ticket on it.  Also, your configurable products will not show in the layered navigation.
