Our client was telling us that he could not upload images on a Mac. No matter what browser he used, he always got an HTTP error. We traced this back to the Flex uploader, used in the admin backend.

We had our Admin running on SSL, and also the frontend. The problem was that we used to protect the non-production ready site with a .htaccess file, asking for security clearance.

Since we changed this to ip restriction, everything worked out just fine!

So, if you have HTTP errors while uploading images from a mac (no matter what browser you are using) check to see if the site is protected using htx, and remove that if possible.
