Hi,

How do I create two websites where the admin of one website can’t have access to the other website data, like clients, sales, etc?

I have not found in the FAQ a simple answer to this question.

Let me detail my scenario:
- I have some web space hosted on mydir1.com, and I am also the owner of domains mydir2.com.
- I have setup Magento on mydir1.com, and tuned my DNS for mydir1.com so that http://www.mydir1.com opens store1.
- Within the same Magento setup, I have defined “another website”, which I would like to be accessed by http://www.mydir2.com

NOW....
- what should I write in my DNS for mydir2.com? Usually, I write there an entry to some IP address (on the DNS) and, on the receiving host, and indication that any query to http://www.mydomain.com should be redirected to some subdir of my main hosting.
The problem here is that, as far as I understand, it seems that both http://www.mydir1.com and http://www.mydir2.com would point to the same subdir…

Where is the magic?

Hi,

You could start by reading the FAQ.

http://www.magentocommerce.com/knowledge-base/entry/overview-how-multiple-websites-stores-work

But this doesn’t solve the problem. I created two websites, WSA and WSB. The problem is that the admin of WSA has access to the data of the WSB and the admin of WSB has access to the WSA data. How do I do to make them really idependent websites, where the admin only has access to his own website data?

But can’t I have two separate webstores with the same installation and separate administrations?

you cannot have this with the same install but two different administrators.
